<p>With WHY2025 in the rearview mirror and ^(?=.*H)[A-Z]{3}2029$ on
the horizon, this is a natural moment for me to reflect on what
I’ve accomplished and what I would like to do next.<br>
<br>
There’s no clear rule carved in stone that a management role
should be limited to two editions. Still, I strongly believe that
after two editions it’s healthy to take a step back and see
whether new people want to take your place. Giving them the chance
to gain the experience and learnings I’ve had the past few years.<br>
<br>
With that in mind, I’d like to open up my position for someone
else. As treasurer, you’ll get a unique inside view of how to
organise a camp, this role is a cornerstone for almost everything
that happens around the event.<br>
<br>
What you'll need:<br>
* Trustworthy: As the principal financial controller, you carry
significant responsibility.<br>
* Actively engaged: The time commitment grows as the event
approaches: ~1 hour/month in off-years, and multiple hours/week in
the event year.<br>
* Well-connected in the community.<br>
* Familiarity with basic bookkeeping.<br>
<br>
Nice to have:<br>
* Familiarity with corporate bookkeeping.<br>
* Basic understanding of Dutch VAT and/or non-profit (charity)
rules.<br>
* Dutch-speaking: You’ll regularly contact suppliers to negotiate
and coordinate. Many prefer Dutch and their English is sometimes
limited.<br>

What we offer:<br>
A seat on the IFCAT board. Our primary role is to safeguard the
continuity of the camp. Secondarily, we support aligned
organisations and events to help grow the wider community.<br>

think and rethink about it, this isn't something you should decide

What happens next:<br>
All applications will be discussed by the current board. As the
outgoing treasurer, I will provide my recommendations.<br>
The remaining board members (excluding me) will vote on the
appointment. Note that board members share legal responsibilities,
so trust is essential for a successful vote.<br>

If we find a new person for my position, i'll do everything to get
you installed beginning 1st of Januari 2027. So there is a
clear-cut where my period has ended and where that of my successor
starts.<br>
I'll stay around for advice and help (if appreciated ofc).<br>

If all else fails:<br>
If we receive no applications, or if we can’t find a match, I will
consider serving one more edition as treasurer — but with this
call, I can look at myself in the mirror (hope it doesn't break!)
and tell myself we've tried.<br>
