It's called Ayran, & is popular in Turkey & West Asia. The recipe is 
absurdly simple
Half yoghurt (pref 'Bulgar/Greek/Turkish yoghurt' style - tastes better)
Quarter milk ( pref 'halfvol' - skimmed, if vol, less, say a fifth)
Rest (do the math!) water. You can even do without milk altogether - 
it's just less creamy.
Add pinch(es) of salt to make it taste like salty - but without 
overdoing!
The salt is almost the most important component, it's about combating 
de-hydration)
