[mch2021-orga] MCH2021 update

Goedenavond allemaal (for English see below),

Net na de afgelopen Mumble orga-meeting is de huidige "lockdown" begonnen in Nederland en het mag duidelijk zijn dat dit een invloed op de samenleving heeft. Aangezien er veel is gebeurd since de meeting wilden wij jullie een mail sturen met een update mbt. de organisatie van MCH2021.

Op dit moment zijn, zoals jullie waarschijnlijk weten, alle evenementen tot 1 september niet toegestaan. In Engeland is EMF-camp geannuleerd, maar de toekomst moet nog uitwijzen hoe de rest van het jaar er uit gaat zien voor de evenementen. Diverse evenementen en organisaties gaan er vanuit dat in 2021 weer evenementen georganiseerd mogen worden en  ook wij hier gaan hier vanuit. Dit heeft voor het organiseren diverse consequenties (bijvoorbeeld contracten, aanbetalingen etc.), maar dit is voor nu te over zien.

Wij willen graag met de hele orga volgend jaar alsnog een mooi evenement neerzetten. We begrijpen echter ook dat vrijwilliger zijn voor een hacker evenement niet bij iedereen prioriteit heeft. Mocht je ondanks de huidige situatie afleiding zoeken en wat zaken op willen pakken, dan zijn we hier natuurlijk erg blij mee.

Zoals tijdens de orga meeting verteld zijn we al met een aantal zaken bezig. Hierbij een korte update:

- Contract terrein: Hier zijn we zo goed als klaar mee
- Sponsoring: Het document is klaar, wordt op de wiki geplaatst. Gezien de huidige situatie wachten we nog even met het benaderen van potentiele sponsoren
- Stroom op het terrein: Het power team heeft hier hele gave ideeen over. Deze worden nog uitgewerkt, maar als dat lukt hebben we unieke stroomvoorziening.
- Teams/roles: Hier komen we op terug in een aparte e-mail.
- Tenten: Er moeten al vroeg tenten gereserveerd worden, hier zijn we druk mee bezig. Aangezien alle evenementen zijn afgezegd is dit een moeilijke periode voor deze leveranciers.
- De ticketshop is operationeel (hier later meer over)

Op 23mei hebben wij weer een Orga meeting op de planning staan (https://wiki.ifcat.org/MCH2021_Orga_Meeting_20200523). Of deze in persoon kan of via een Mumble moeten we tzt. bekijken. Los van de Orga meetings willen we, net als voor SHA2017, weer tweewekelijkse Mumble meetings in plannen. Deze zullen op de dinsdag om 20:00 (CEST/CET) zijn en de eerste op 12 mei. Als er geen specifieke agenda is, dan kunnen we (of in ieder geval ik) de tijd gebruiken om aan diverse zaken (met elkaar) te werken.

En natuurlijk het aller belangrijkste, de mailinglist is hernoemd! (Thanks Piele!) Mochten er nog vragen of discussie zijn dan is de mailinglist daar perfect voor. Als er nog andere vragen/opmerkingen/klachten zijn, laat het vooral weten.

Goodevening all,

Just after the last Mumble orga meeting the official "lockdown" started in the Netherlands. Right now it is clear that the current situation has a large impact on society.  Alot has happened since the meeting, we wanted to send an update e-mail with regards to the organisation of MCH2021.

As you undoubtedly know there can't be any events until the 1st of September. This is similar in the rest of the world which resulted in EMF-camp being cancelled. Time will tell how the rest of the year will look like for events. Thus far most organisations assume that in 2021 events can be organized again. While organizing an event right now has some consequences (e.g working with suppliers), we will continue the organisation with the assumption that we can have MCH2021 next year.

We would like to have an amazing event next year with all the volunteers. We understand that volunteering for a hacker event doesn't have the highest priority for everyone. If you are looking for a distraction and want to do some tasks, feel free to do so.

During the meeting we said that we were working on several aspects that need to be arranged early. A short update:

- Contract with the terrain: Almost done
- Sponsoring: The outreach document is done and we'll place it on the wiki. Given the current situation we'll hold off on actively approaching potential sponsors.
- Power on the terrain: The power team has some amazing ideas around this. It is still in the early stages, but if it all works out, we will have a unique way of powering the event.
- Teams/roles: Separate mail will follow shortly about this.
- Tents: Tents and such need to be reserved quite early. We are working on this, but given the cancelation of all the events this is a difficult time for these suppliers.
- The ticketshop is up and running (more will follow later)

The next orga meeting has been planned for the 23rd of May (https://wiki.ifcat.org/MCH2021_Orga_Meeting_20200523). We have to see if we can have a meeting in person or if we'll have another Mumble meeting. Next to the regular Orga meetings, we would like to start with bi-weekly Mumble meetings. These will be on the Tuesday at 20:00 (CEST/CET) and the first on the 12th of May. If there is no specific agenda, we can use the time (or at least I will) to work on various tasks with each other.

Of course the most important things, the mailinglist has been renamed! (Thanks Piele!). The mailinglist can be used for all questions and discussions. If you have any other questions, remarks or complaints, please speak up.
