Which won't be operational until probably April next year. By the time 
this CfP will be gathering dust. That said, we already have been 
discussing making it also a call for volunteers but so far we have 
removed language pointing in that direction. Maybe a good thing to have 
in the various updates in the run-up to the event.

There are all kinds of projects fledgling that will hopefully as awesome 
as the conference aspect of the event aspires to become. The badge 
project, the marina, you name it. None of them are concrete enough or 
are otherwise a good fit to be included in the Call for Participation. 
So yes, you drew your conclusion yourself: you are on your own here.
