Hi All,
Great that preparations for MCH+1 are, if not in full swing, at least on! Time's always too short for prepies (the good ones ;-)
Regarding terrains, I would eliminate Ruigoord at once, unless you envisage a MCH+1 with just 150 participants or so (has always been my dream, but that's a different story ;-)
Ruigoord, which sits on ground owned by the Harbour of Amsterdam Corporation, has seen its 'tolerance' (or sufferance ;-) extended by 25 year not so long ago. That good news went with many strictures: mostly a severe limitation of the sort of open air activities that can be deployed there and an even more severe restriction on the number of people allowed to attend.
Besides even though fairly large festivals have been held in Ruigoord, it lacks, unlike the venues where previous events were organsised since HAR, permanent structures/facilities, so everything has to be shipped in, set up and then dismantled again and taken out. It's exactly, if I am not mistaken, the sort of burden successive orgas have decided to outsource since 'Boxtel'.
Webmind might be better able than me to ascertain
Just my two Lires,
Cheers to all, p+7D!&H!

Dear all,
It is still in the early phases, but we want to give you an update on the status MCH+1! There are some dates to pencil in your calendars: 8 to 12 of Augustus 2025.
A few teams started their preparations already, and a small group is doing investigations into feasible terrains. We have looked at many options already and are still considering terrains so if you have an option for a great festival terrain in the Netherlands, please let us know!
So far there are three terrains on the shortlist, but all of them have their advantages and disadvantages. The current shortlist, in no particular order and with a small, incomplete description:
Scoutinglandgoed - Zeewolde
The known area, beautiful large fields, foresty areas, a harbor, in the middle of nowhere. We know the facilities and we know the ground keepers.
Ruigoord - Amsterdam
A woodsy squatted enclave in the Amsterdam harbor. It has a unique atmosphere, interesting terrain features, some open areas, and some areas with buildings.
Geestmerambacht - Alkmaar
A newly developed festival terrain in a recreational area. This is close to, but not the same as, the OHM2013 terrain. It has some natural terrain features such as raised areas, but little special flair.
It is close to developed areas that are not visible from the terrain.
This is the current shortlist, a definitive choice will be made in the new year, unless you have the golden tip for another contender!
Love to hear from you,
Boekenwuurm

Small nuance: While it was squatted (verb), it hasn't been for almost 24
years now. It's been an artists collective and festival venue ever since.
Take care,
