Dear Hackers,

Warehouse is officially open for requests! To give you an idea of the kind of things to ask for, and where/how to do so, I'm writing you this e-mail.

## WHO

Warehouse is the team that buys things (tools and consumables) to be used on-site by the other teams. From early during buildup till late teardown, we operate an actual warehouse where angels can get the things they need. Additionally, we buy specific things for specific teams to make their lives easier, and to consolidate orders or even buy in bulk because that's cheaper (consider, for example, shipping fees).

## WHY

Buying things last-minute (e.g. during build-up) gets very expensive, very fast, and it's stressful.

By asking you to request stuff way in advance, we can get a good idea of what we need to order in advance, so cost can be kept low, and quantities high. This also helps you, because if we can't arrange something you requested, you'll know in time. no surprises :)

## HOW: email to warehouse at lists.why2025.org

To make certain we get the right things you need, please let us know what those things are. Include how many/much, and what kind.

For example,

> Hi, can you get us the following:
> - 100 m rope (thin, any type) for suspending cables
> - 200x tie-wrap (black, 20 cm) for bundling cables
> - 3x EN 166 certified face shield
> - 4x A5 notepad
> - 2x desk light
> - 2x power strip
> - 5x cleaning cloth

Be specific, but not overly specific, because we actively look for opportunities to get something cheaper if we think it can fulfill your needs, or if it's easier to get.

If you think it might be helpful for us, feel free to include URLs or pictures.

Note that budget-wise, every item over 10 € counts towards your team's budget.

*Non-email requests (e.g. face2face, signal, sms, smoke signals, RFC 1149) will be ignored.*

## WHEN

* 2025-02-20 = Start date, place your bets orders
* 2025-04-01 = Pre-order "soft" deadline
* 2025-05-23 = Rejected items communicated back to you
* 2025-06-01 = Pre-order "hard" deadline
* 2025-07-01 = Rejected items communicated back to you
* 2025-08-?? = Stuff available early during buildup (during bootstrap phase)

We hope to start buying whenever there's good deals. We'll accept general request until June 1st, after this date we might not be able to order special stuff you need.

The goal is to have everything available on the field from day -7 (this may change).

## WHAT

As a rule of thumb, we mostly do things that fit in boxes that can be carried by a single person.

Below is a general (and incomplete) list of wares we got for SHA and MCH, to give an idea of the things we intend to get for common use anyway. Let us know if you need something else.

### consumables

- tie wraps
- duct tape
- painter's tape
- flatterband
- office supplies (paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, scissors, etc)
- screws, nails
- rope
- zip-loc bags
- wd40

Note: if you need copious amounts of certain consumables, let us know beforehand! If you just need "some" available, no need to order.

### tools

- a printer that can also be used by other teams
- hand tools (screw drivers, hammers, spanners, pliers, etc)
- small power tools (drills, circular saw)
- angel angle grinder
- tyre inflating compressor thing
- buckets
- axe
- sledge hammer
- brooms (indoor and outdoor)
- gloves
- ladders
- hand trucks
- ratchet straps
- flash lights
- vacuum cleaner
