From hugh at crablab.uk Wed Feb 12 20:30:35 2025 From: hugh at crablab.uk (Hugh Wells) Date: Wed, 12 Feb 2025 19:30:35 +0000 Subject: [Shuttle] Shuttle EV Charging Message-ID: Hello! As mentioned in the Orga update, I thought it would be useful to discuss shuttle charging requirements.? The vehicles in question are planned to be: - https://kavautoverhuur.nl/huren/personenbus/personenbus-peugeot-e-traveller-9-pers - https://kavautoverhuur.nl/huren/personenbus/rolstoelbus-mercedes-electr-lift We would prefer relatively quick charging for these, but I don't know what will be possible to provide. We anticipate that the shuttles will remain in the parking area for charging.? Thanks,? Hugh (crablab) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... From team NUTS we were wondering what impact the BEV[vans](https://ev-database.org/car/1353/Peugeot-e-Traveller-Standard-75-kWh)will bring to the terrains infrastructure, because of that we had a few questions: - How many trips do you expect in parallel? (To give an example: are all 6 vans used continuously or have you planned to rotate 3 vans, while the other 3 are charging?) - What kind of charging infrastructure have you currently considered? (e.g.: Have you currently planned to charge on- or off terrain?) - If you expect to charge on-terrain: How many round-trips do you expect per day? We'll need to factor it in with the other power-requirements, but this should give us a better understanding. Thanks for your time! Up to 6; it depends how many volunteers we can get on arrival and departure days which will be the most intense. In between that the Shuttles will be used more lightly and we'd anticipate maximum 2-3 driving while the others are charging. > What kind of charging infrastructure have you currently considered? We plan to charge on terrain. In extremis, there are some fast chargers we will maybe use on the busiest days to keep vans in service, but obviously that comes at a cost. Ideally we'd like charging in the parking area. 3-pin is probably fine if we can charge them all in parallel, but if we can get something a little faster that would be better. > If you expect to charge on-terrain: How many round-trips do you expect per day? Per vehicle? That's hard to say but the maximum frequency a single vehicle can do is 2ph and each trip is maximum 30km. We're in the middle of figuring out how we'll collect all expectations for our administration and budget requests/changes. It's my first IFCAT rodeo, so I'm still getting my bearings around planning and the order in what happens/depends on what, etc ? Currently there are no concrete plans for charging equipment on the terrain, nor has any charging equipment been budgeted, yet. We'll need charging units/poles for the cars, and we'll need to make the power available. Do you know if the car rental also has charging equipment to rent? I've looked at the spec-sheet of the vans, based on the model I see a max of 7.5kW charging, so that looks to be around 4 hours for around 200km range. Do those numbers sound correct? Because I also see a model with different specs. For now I'll assume these vans have a capacity of 7kW charging (AC). I'll throw that into the group to see what we come up with and what we can provide at what location. If it's anything else, please let us know so that we can update our sheet. It'll probably end up on the wiki, but I don't mind entering this request specifically, while we get this list up-and-running.
