[mch2021-orga] sustainability in the camp

At another event I am a part of (22.000 campers, 50.000+ visitors, I am
working in telecom, not power) they changed the power supply system to use
one big generator with a battery-unit for use in a place where we used to
have 3 of 4 big generators.
This was in use for all the lights and audio in the big tent and all the
portacabins etc. and still it had no trouble powering the whole thing.
It is possible these days to rent those generator/battery combos.
Generators can run very inefficiently, and with these solutions the
generator runs very efficiently for a while to charge the batteries and
then is off until the batteries need charging again.
I am not going to throw around numbers/percentages, but I guess the
powerteam knows these options, or I can put them in touch with the people
at the other event for info-exchange.
Best regards,
