Hi all,
A quick update from Team:Sysadmin in between orga jitsi sessions
Mailing lists
We’ve changed the whitelists on all team mailing lists. If you have an
WHY2025 email address (or other IFCAT mail address) or are subscribed
to the orga mailing list (which, if you’re reading this: you are): you
can now directly mail team mailing lists without having your email end
up in the holding queue.
With that in mind: moving forward we’re disallowing settings mailing
lists fully open. Mailman has a setting to immediately accept mails
from unknown sources, which results in our mailing server relaying spam
to multiple internal and external mailboxes. This affects server
reputation and adds an archive cleanup burden for Sysadmin.
The affected teams/mailing lists have been notified via their
respective mailing lists. If a list is changed to ‘open’ in the future
(via the list admin pages) we’ll change the setting back to default
without notice. If you believe you have a reason in the future for
doing so, please reach out to sysadmin at why2025.org.
Hedgedoc
We’ve set up Single Sign-On and hooked up Hedgedoc to it, meaning we
can finally make personal Hedgedoc accounts for anyone part of the
orga. We are going to create accounts for @why2025.org (orga) and
@ifcat.org (board) personal mail account holders proactively. For
everyone else, please submit an account request via
sysadmin at why2025.org.
Please note we’re not planning on supporting shared (team) accounts for
this system.
Cheers,
Xesxen
